Day Camp Tracker Privacy Policy

Day Camp Tracker (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is a day camp planning app for parents. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Day Camp Tracker iOS application (“Day Camp Tracker”).
Summary: Day Camp Tracker is designed to keep your family’s schedule on your iPhone. We do not operate servers that store your camp data, and we do not sell your information.
1. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to anyone who downloads and uses Day Camp Tracker from the Apple App Store. Day Camp Tracker is intended for parents and guardians managing household schedules. It is not directed at children to use on their own.
2. Information stored on your device
When you use Day Camp Tracker, you may enter and store the following on your device only:
- Children’s profiles — such as a display name, color, and optional emoji avatar
- Camp details — camp name, location/address, dates, times, notes, checklist items, and registration status
- Assignments — which children are assigned to which camps
- App preferences — such as calendar display mode, default maps app, and reminder on/off settings
This information is saved locally (for example, in the app’s on-device storage) and is used to show your calendar, dashboard, Today view, maps, and camp reminders.
We do not receive, access, or store this schedule data on our servers because Day Camp Tracker does not use a backend account or cloud database operated by us.
3. Information we do not collect
Day Camp Tracker does not:
- Require you to create an account or sign in with us
- Transmit your schedule data to us for storage or analytics
- Use advertising SDKs or sell your data
- Collect or store your credit card, billing address, or other payment details
If we introduce features that change this (for example, optional cloud sync), we will update this policy before or when those features ship.
4. Subscriptions and payments
Day Camp Tracker offers an optional annual auto-renewable subscription (with a free trial) through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes all payments — we do not receive or store your payment information.
Apple may provide limited purchase information to the app (such as whether a subscription is active) so Day Camp Tracker can grant access. That verification is handled by Apple’s StoreKit and is subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy.
You can manage, cancel, or request a refund through your Apple ID account settings or reportaproblem.apple.com.
5. Device permissions and features
Local notifications
If you enable camp reminders, Day Camp Tracker schedules local notifications on your device (for example, one week before, the day before, and the morning a confirmed camp starts). These alerts are created and delivered by iOS on your phone; we do not send push notifications from our own servers.
You can turn reminders off in the app (Home → bell icon) or in Settings → Notifications → Day Camp Tracker.
Location and addresses
Day Camp Tracker does not track your real-time GPS location.
When you enter a camp address or place name, the app may send that text to Apple’s location services (such as MapKit search and geocoding) to show camps on a map. That processing is subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy.
When you tap Open in Maps, Day Camp Tracker opens your chosen maps app (Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze, if installed). Those apps handle data under their own policies.
6. Information about children
Parents and guardians enter information about their children (such as a first name) to organize camps. You control what you enter. That information stays on your device unless you choose to share it outside the app (for example, via a screenshot or device backup).
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through Day Camp Tracker. If you believe a child has provided us information in error, contact us using the details in Section 11.
7. Backups and device security
Your data may be included in encrypted device backups (for example, iCloud Backup or a computer backup) according to your Apple ID and device settings. We do not control those backups.
Protect your device with a passcode or Face ID / Touch ID. Anyone who can unlock your phone can access data stored in Day Camp Tracker.
8. Data retention and deletion
- While installed: Your schedule remains on your device until you edit or delete it in the app.
- Delete the app: Removing Day Camp Tracker from your iPhone typically deletes the app’s local data from that device. Data may still exist in device backups until those backups are replaced or removed.
- No remote copy: Because we do not host your schedule data, we cannot delete it from our servers on your behalf.
9. Security
We rely on Apple’s iOS app sandbox to isolate Day Camp Tracker data from other apps. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, but keeping data on-device and not operating a central database reduces exposure from server breaches.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of Day Camp Tracker after changes means you accept the updated policy.
